That's how JDOM was actually first written.  But users and experts on
the list helped create the new model, and I believe it's superior. 
There are things you need in a memory model that you don't need in a
text model, like the ability to have XML tools move elements without
incurring namespace changes.

It doesn't make much sense to continue this debate.  We had it over a
year ago, and it's settled.
