[jdom-interest] Please make a release...

You're suggesting I fragment effort my creating a clone and testing that to
production...not exactly efficient! I remember reading on the site about
this time last year that a release would be made "by the end of
summer"...that was last summer! Does a schedule and feature list exist for
a 1.0 release? When can it be expected? Your argument that JDOM is open
source yet burdened by Java standardisation is somewhat of a
contradiction...
This is not intended as criticism...
regards,
Zav

So, take the current sources, copy them, call them XavierDOM, and release
them
as 1.0. Under the JDOM license, that's your right.
Seriously, your messages come across as ungrateful whining, and that isn't
going to help. The JDOM API has the burden of being a part of the Java
standard, so more effort is needed to make sure the 1.0 API is really
correct
than with other APIs. Right now, it's not ready. It's that simple.
As a counter-example, the Jakarta Struts project is over a year old and is
currently on beta 3.
