Maybe it is the reduced size of your p4's internal cache ;-p
Have you tried setting the maximum memory java can use to 200MB? Typically,
one does not load a very large document into a DOM representation, what are
you trying to do?

Subject: [jdom-interest] large files
I am trying to parse an XML file which is approximately 185MB large. On a
dual processor p4 1Ghz with 2GB of RAM, I used JDOM to try and simply load
the document. It sat there with no output for 108 minutes until I finally
killed the process. I couldn't tell if it had simply not completed the
loading, or if the process hung somewhere... Is there anything special I
need to be aware of for parsing exceptionally large XML files?
Thanks
