Damian,
I'm terribly embarassed, but I've gone to the link you suggested (though I
don't understand why Xalan source is in the Xerces distribution),
downloaded:
Xerces-src-1.3.1.zip
and not found anything that looks like the XALAN TrAX (or JAXP)
implementation (e.g. TransformerFactory, etc). Note the emphasis on XALAN.
