[jdom-interest] Norwegians uses letters lik æ, ø and å

Hello,

I am using JDOM in a project and one of the main thing I do there is to store
Java Strings as Elements/Attributes/Values or Content.
But frequently I am using letters like æ, ø and å and it seems to me that JDOM
do not handle these letters.

Why is that? Does not all letters have a specific unicode that all Java
programs handles?

This problem is for me very crucial, if I do not solve this problem 1/2-year work is down the drain.

What can I do to overcome this problem?
