[jdom-interest] £ sign bug?

Hi,

I'm having some problems with XMLOutputter, whenever I update an XML doc
with text containing the UK pound symbol(£) it prints out a load of garbage
before it like this: Ã~CÂ~BÃ~BÂ£

Any ideas?
