[jdom-interest] JDK 4 should not hold us back from generics - let's move on!

I am all set to introduce Generics, introduce Retrotranslator, maybe
switch the build system to maven (maybe it is also time to switch to
Subversion).
As soon as those with the power have made the decision, I will be glad
to contribute.

What do you think about this:
- Create a new Subversion repository
- copy the content of the cvs repo to the new one (cvs2svn)
- create a new branch
- switch to maven based build (with ant script for backward compatibility)
- introduce and test retrotranslator
- add Java 5 features where helpful
