[jdom-interest] newbie detach() question

Hi Mike

I use detach all the time as the tool I am writing (which is not an XML
editor but uses XML) allows the user to drag and drop requirements from one
place to another. My requirements are implemented as elements. (Oh and my
program logic doesn't allow the root to be detached because that's simply
not an option presented to the user - they don't even know the root exists).

Hi,
I've been following the detach() debate for a while and I was just
wondering if someone could let me know all of the different
cases where one would want to detach an element from its parent.
What kind of hassles would be created if there was no detach() method?
