I already subscribe to 5 listservs:
jdom-interst (obviously)
xsl-interest
servlet-interest
j2ee-interest
hash-l (any hashers out there?)
and I don't need to belong to another as I already get 200+ emails/day. So I'm going to post this here because you guys are the elite. I do not know of any solution to requesting assistance to problems that span our collective Java experience across the many interest groups that cross boundaries except to create a central database with all the cross-referenced interest groups' issues (what a project for XML!). Since that has not been undertaken (yet), please just delete this msg if you are not interested in Tomcat/Cocoon/servlet/JDOM combined issues.
I read Jason's "Java Servlet Programming, 2d Ed." and am half-way through Brett's "Java and XML, 1st Ed." and am trying to build a JDOM-friendly, Pure-Java environment with Xerces, Xalan, Cocoon, and JDOM. For 2 days I've fretted with the classpath and syntax issues of a rapidly-evolving specification and now I'm down to (I hope) the final issue.
I d/l all the above (inc. JDOM rc-7) and think I have everything (finally) configured correctly, but when I run the tomcat start or tomcat run bat files in Windoze 2k (after placing the cocoon.war file in the webapps directory), I get the following:
ContextManager: Adding context Ctx( /cocoon)
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log/format/PatternFormatter
at blah, blah, blah...
Would one of you wizards out there gimme a clue?
Thanks!
Mark
