Sorry, I didn't mean to imply otherwise. There's been some (IMHO)
over-promotion of JDOM, most noticably by a developer who doesn't seem
to be involved much in the project any more. That was what I was
thinking when I wrote the "PR claims" part. There are some far worse
offenders than JDOM in this area, though!
At this point the big problem I personally see with JDOM is the lack of
a stable API. Performance gains would be nice but probably aren't the
deciding factor for most people - most of the document models are close
enough that I can't see this as a huge issue. I think the best thing
that can be done to make JDOM a success is just to hammer out an API
that everyone is willing to live with, then commit to supporting that
API. That'll give JDOM the stability that developers need to build on.
