[jdom-interest] Toward beta 9

Presumably the place that you'd see the most improvement is in documents
with lots of text content (long strings), where the cost of the extra
verification isn't swamped by the cost of parsing the markup. IIRC we
found that turning off the verifier sped up some documents by 20%.

I do not get a noticeable improvement using my "normal" activities.

I see you are right, it has been done. And a better solution than
mine,
sort-of. I had to do the inheritance because I decided not to use the
org.jdom package (it does belong in the org.jdom.input package).

If it does not provide "earth shattering" boost to performance, then it
is
not the Verification at fault.

Oh well, that was my daily diversion. I will give it a performance test
just
to get some numbers for myself.

Maybe Steve Conover could have a go as well.

In the jdom-interest archives at

    http://www.servlets.com/archive/servlet/ReadMsg?msgId=218029
<http://www.servlets.com/archive/servlet/ReadMsg?msgId=218029>

you'll find the code already done (go over though cause I think there's
a
small bug in one of the attribute creation methods).
