[jdom-interest] Toward beta 9

If I remember correctly I was also seeing about 10-20% improvements, which
for me is very significant. I will go back and redo my tests and will
publish the results here, but unfortunately I may not get to this for some
time (3-4 weeks) as I'm very busy with other work right now...
