Hi Jason: I'm sorry for not replying to your email about my background.
I did suffer an email meltdown back in April and your message might
have wound up in bits. My bio is at
http://www.pushtotest.com/ptt/bio.html. Bascially, I'm a so-so Java
programmer with a prolific writing capacity and manage TestMaker as an
open-source project. I've been making a living offering consulting
around TestMaker. I've been using JDOM since Beta 3 and bundle JDOM
with TestMaker. My new book "Automating Web Tests with TestMaker"
includes JDOM for manipulating SOAP request/response data. Details on
the book are at: http://www.pushtotest.com/ptt/books/awtbook.html.
Phil Goodwin and Jeff Suttor urged me to consider helping to move JDOM
through the JCP. I asked Jeff if there might be a contract project at
Sun, he suggested I talk with Tom Kincaid and maybe Connie Weiss. I'll
do so next week.
I attended the JCP party last night and sat in on the session for Spec
Leads. I asked them 20 questions about what it was like to be a lead
and got good answers and encouragement.
How did your talk with Doug and Josh go?
